Breast augmentation is an incredible procedure, and results are usually wonderful.  However, breast implants are not for everyone. After having breast implants for a long period of time, some patients no longer wish to have them for a variety of reasons

Why Have Implants Removed?

Women have their implants removed for various reasons. Some women experience capsular contracture, some women don’t like the way their implants look, and some don’t feel like themselves with their implants. Regardless of why women got their implants in the first place, removal is always an option and requires essentially the same process. Some women choose to have their implants replaced to achieve a different look, but many choose not to.

After Breast Implant Removal Will I Need A Breast Lift?

This is a question that can only be answered in a consultation, as not everyone will need one. In general, the larger your implants and the smaller your natural breasts, the more likely you are to need a lift. An option that we often recommend is to have the breast implants removed, allow the breasts to heal and then evaluate if a lift is beneficial. While this means two operations, it also means that you can make the decision to lift or not to lift without having to guess what your breast will look like without breast implants.
