Chemical Peels

Keeping your skin looking great through the aging process can be challenging, particularly when there are so many factors that can diminish the youthful glow of your skin.

Chemical peels are a simple, yet effective, way to enhance the appearance of your skin while addressing specific concerns, such as collagen loss, adult acne or pigmentation.

The benefits of a chemical peel

  • Diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Reduces the appearance of sun damage, scars, pigmentation, and enlarged pores.
  • Improves your skin tone and texture by removing dead and damaged skin cells.
  • Reduces the effects of acne and minimizes blemishes.
  • Brightens your skin as a result of collagen production and cell renewal.

What to Expect After a Peel

Following a peel your skin will feel tight and sensitive. The feeling is often compared to that of a sunburn.  You may remain red for an hour or so following the peel.  Most peels result in some peeling or flaking of the skin and will begin approximately 3 to 5 days following the procedure.  The extent of peeling varies according to the person and the depth of the peel.

Your skin will be extremely sensitive to the sun following a peel, so sunscreen MUST BE used following your peel (and everyday for that matter). Failure to use sunscreen, or exposure to too much sun, can reverse, and sometimes exacerbate the skin conditions you are trying to solve. It is imperative for your results that sunscreen is worn ANYTIME you are outside, regardless of weather.

Because of this, fall is usually a great time to begin a series of chemical peels.
