Though often done in conjunction, neck liposuction differs from a neck lift in that it focuses on removing stubborn fat along the neckline, while a neck lift is preferred for removing sagging, excess skin. Using the latest in power assisted liposuction technology, our Board Certified Plastic Surgeons utilize the tumescent lipo technique, avoiding the use of general anesthesia. After making one or two small incisions beneath the chin and/or behind the ears, a small cannula is inserted which is used to suction out the undesired fat deposits. Some swelling and bruising is to be expected the first week or so and a compression garment should be worn on the neck for two weeks in the evening after the procedure.
