This 45 year old female underwent a breast reduction at Sound Plastic Surgery. Notice in the post-operative photos her abdomen and waist are no longer concealed by her breasts! A breast lift is included with a breast reduction, and this case illustrates that point very nicely. In the before photos her nipples are low on the breasts and are close to her navel.

As with all of their breast reductions, Dr. Cooper and Dr. Sattler use a superio-medial pedicle to provide a nicely shaped breast. Remember: what happens under the skin in a breast reduction operation is just as important as what happens with the skin! Additionally, this technique allows removal of all of the heavy breast tissue located in the lower portion of the breast. These photos were taken several months after her operation, and by one year these scars will fade considerably and appear as faint white lines.
