Dr. Sharma’s Cosmetic Facial Procedures
Education
Dr. Sharma attended the University of Utah for both her undergraduate and medical degrees. She was accepted as a member of the University of Utah Honors College and received a degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
During medical school she quickly became fascinated with surgery and eventually realized she enjoyed the anatomical complexity and variety of subspecialties within the realm of Otolaryngology (ENT).
Background
Dr. Sharma is originally from Salt Lake City, UT. She was always interested in science and anatomy growing up, which was influenced by gaining exposure to medicine at an early age from her father who is an ENT specializing in Head and Neck Oncology. She learned to suture at the age of 8 and worked as a medical assistant in a large multi-specialty ENT office during her formative years, solidifying her interest in medicine.
Dr. Sharma has also always gravitated towards artistic hobbies including painting, drawing, knitting, and sewing. She continues to nurture and explore these hobbies throughout her academic years and career.
She has settled in Seattle due to her love for the west coast, proximity to family, and the outdoors. She enjoys skiing, hiking, running, tennis, Saturday morning farmer’s market, cooking, and finding the best restaurants in town with vegetarian food.
Residency and Fellowship
Dr. Sharma attended the University at Buffalo for her Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency. Although all aspects of ENT interested her, she became enamored with facial plastic surgery due to the combination of surgical precision and artistic detail that allow patients to feel happy and confident. She was mentored by Dr. David Sherris, former Chief of Facial Plastic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic and former Chairman of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University at Buffalo.
She completed an American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive (AAFPRS) certified fellowship in Rochester, NY with world renowned facial plastic surgeon Dr. Vito Quatela, former president of the AAFPRS and International Federation of Plastic Surgery Societies (IFPSS), focusing primarily on aesthetic surgery of the face and hair.
