At Sound Plastic Surgery, we specialize in cosmetic surgery of the face. Our Seattle area surgeons have evolved their face and neck lift technique to deliver consistent, refreshed and natural results that will stand the test of time.
Our face and necklift technique addresses the main signs of facial aging, including cheek laxity, jowling, neck laxity and facial volume loss. There are a variety of facelift techniques that our surgeons customize for each patient. Facelift surgery is often combined with fat grafting, eyelid surgery, browlift surgery and chemical peels to create a surgical rejuvenation that is unique and tailored for each patient.
Facelift surgery is done using a variety of techniques, each tailored to the individual patient. A good facelift will improve the shape of the face, the neck contour and redistribute facial volume in a more youthful position. Facelifts incisions are concealed within the hairline and within the contours of the ear.
What is unique about the facelift procedure by Sound Plastic Surgery?
The facelift procedure emphasizes the restoration of facial volume in regions of the cheeks and around the eyes. In addition, the Sound Plastic Surgery face lift procedure emphasizes a 'clean' and smooth neckline and jawline. In order to create these changes, our surgeons modify the position of the face's underlying connective tissue (the SMAS layer) and then carefully re-drapes the facial and neck skin around this restructured foundation. Fat transfer techniques and neck liposuction are also frequently used to further enhance a facelift result for our Seattle area patients. We emphasize the restoration of a youthful facial shape, which is a hallmark of facial beauty, and can only be created by an expertly performed facelift surgery.
Some patients are good candidates for a short scar facelift, mini facelift and other minimally invasive facelift techniques. Other patients require a full face and neck lift to achieve the best possible cosmetic result.
How is a facelift by Sound Plastic Surgery done?
Our surgeons perform all facelifts with the assistance of board certified anesthesiologists in an accredited ambulatory surgery center. For most patients, a 'twilight sleep' anesthetic is used for maximum patient safety during a facelift procedure.
The operation takes a few hours, depending on the additional procedures being done. At Sound Plastic Surgery, we frequently use neck liposuction, fat grafting, brow lift surgery, eyelid lift surgery and laser facial resurfacing to further enhance surgical results.
What is facelift recovery like?
Immediately after surgery, the face is fitted with bandages in order to reduce swelling. Patients sometimes report some minor pain associated with surgery. Any discomfort can be treated effectively with oral medication. Patients will follow up in our Seattle area clinic the day after surgery for drain removal and then six days after surgery for suture removal. While complications are rare, patients can minimize potential problems by carefully following the directions given after the procedure. Individual results will vary, however most patients are able to attend social functions without excessive bruising or swelling at two weeks after surgery.
At Sound Plastic Surgery, our goal for every facial cosmetic surgery is a refreshed and natural look that will last for years to come.
