After several small incisions are made in the concerning area, a thin hollow tube, or cannula, is inserted into the incisions to dislodge fat using a back and forth motion. The extracted fat is then suctioned out using a surgical vacuum. Although we recommend our patients wear a compression garment for about 4 weeks, recovery time is fairly brief and patients are able to return to work in a few days.
